Do you have a saving or investing mindset? Describe your style in one sentence.
I definitely have a saving mindset. My goal is always to out-do my savings amount every month.
Do you invest actively? Why or why not? If so, what is your approach in a nutshell? What level of risk are you comfortable with?
I have started investing a small amount weekly. Currently I only feel comfortable investing with low-risk investments. However, I am keen to learn a little bit more about investing and start taking some bigger risks… stay tuned!
What are some of the money lessons/mistakes you have learned so far? Any milestones/successes you would like to share?
A money lesson I’ve learnt is to watch my spending. I’ve gone through phases of enjoying life a little too much, and spent my younger years not at all focusing on saving. With that being said, I am really proud of my saving efforts over the last 1-2 years, and am really comfortable with the amount I’ve saved up.
What is one of your short-term money goals?
To continue to grow my emergency savings account.
What are you most likely to splurge on?
Love going out for a nice dinner and a few cocktails with the girls. Also, guilty of online shopping a little too much!
Any resources that have helped you with your money - i.e., books, apps, websites, podcasts?
Most valuable resource is speaking to people and learning from their experiences. I also have recently followed a few investing accounts on Instagram (@girlsthatinvest, @thelady.fire to name a few) and listening to some podcasts, cheeky plug for Crypto Curious.
Any investments outside of Blossom?
Not currently, need to pick my game up!
Who is your biggest money role model?
Matilda Murray, the co-owner and brand manager of Australian brand STAX. I love the story of STAX and how Matilda brought new life to the company and helped turn STAX out of debt and into a $52 million business.
What’s the best piece of financial advice you’ve been given? Or one piece of financial advice you’d give your younger self?
The classic that I think everyone has heard, start saving when you are young.
My advice to my younger self would be always try to have multiple streams of income, don’t just rely on one.
And what’s the ultimate money goal you’re working towards?
My ultimate money goal at the moment is to save enough to enter the property market.
Finally, tell us something you wouldn't want your in-laws to know about you…
Hmmm this is a hard one… maybe that I’m a failing TikTok star with only one viral video (7M views – lowkey flex) but I seem to be a one hit wonder hahaha.
